Dr. Karen Mitchell D.C. is a certified full-spine Chiropractic graduate from Palmer College of Chiropractic. She is fluent in both English and Spanish and she is proudly serving the community of Hamilton County.
While attending Palmer College of Chiropractic Dr. Mitchell attended Gonstead Club, Motion Palpation Club, and Activator Club. She also went to several Pediatric Seminars. She also took elective classes in Flexion-Distraction technique, a technique specific for low back pain, Activator, which is a gentle technique using a metal instrument, and Soft tissue techniques which involve treating trigger points to allow for normal muscle tone and flexibility.
She addresses each patient uniquely in order to get them functioning better. She uses the following techniques: Gonstead, Diversified, Flexion-Distraction, Thompson Drops, Cranial adjusting, and Soft tissue trigger point therapy. She will also recommend rehab which will be tailored to each individual patient.
Dr. Mitchell received her undergraduate degree in Spanish from IUPUI. Then she took an extra year to complete the coursework required for Palmer’s enrollment. Dr. Mitchell loves the Hispanic Culture and the language. She looks forward to being able to use her Spanish fluency to help out the Hispanic population.
She has been serving the community through Hamilton County Chiropractic doing kinesiotape applications and spinal screenings. She has gone to several marathons and local businesses spreading the word of Chiropractic. Dr. Mitchell is from Westfield, Indiana and she is happy to be serving her community and the people which she loves. Dr. Mitchell is also a member of the Noblesville Chamber, Fishers Chamber, Hamilton North Chamber, Carmel Chamber, and Westfield Chamber.
Dr. Mitchell has always been very athletic. She was a gymnast for 9 years and also did Tae kwon Do. She also enjoyed other sports such as weight lifting, pogo sticking, swimming, tennis, and soccer. After a series of gymnastics and trampoline injuries, Dr. Mitchell was in a lot of pain and was unable to do sports for a while.
After the injuries she developed scoliosis and had migraines for several years. She tried physical therapy, conservative medical care and several other types of treatment but nothing was working. After she started Chiropractic care she was pain-free and she was able to return to her active lifestyle. As of today she no longer has scoliosis or migraines thanks to Chiropractic. Through this wonderful health transformation, Dr. Mitchell found passion and an inspiration for her career as a chiropractor. She wishes to help restore health to her patients just as Chiropractic helped restore her health.
She is passionate about helping patients with regards to their entire health as a whole which includes chiropractic care, nutritional and exercise advice, and their stress management skills.
Dr. Mitchell believes that family is very important. She enjoys spending time with her family, her boyfriend, Jacob, friends, and her Siamese cats whenever she can. Dr. Mitchell stays active doing P90X, yoga, and is looking into getting back into martial arts. She also enjoys ice skating, walks in nature, swimming, and cooking.
